A little about me and my business and why and where I fish the areas I fish. I am a native Oregonian, started hunting and fishing here as soon as I was able to keep both ends of a rifle or rod off the ground. I retired from the carpenters union in '07 and started my business right away. I worked one summer in Alaska '08 for a couple of lodges, it was a learning experience for me.
After that summer, I came home and started guiding here full time. Although I was raised fishing for Salmon, Steelhead and Sturgeon, Walleye soon came to be my favorite fish to target. I still guide for all of the latter and have had great success, but Walleye are my favorite and I have honed my skills since 1994 when I caught my first walleye.

I wanted to let you know what a great day of fishing I had with Steve. Steve put us on fish early and often. It was obvious that he had pre-fished the area and knew where the fish were. He was instructive, insightful and had some great stories. I think we boated over 16 walleye and released several including a an 8 pound pig of a fish. His boat was comfortable and his gear matched the quarry. I hope we get an opportunity to fish again with Steve soon.

Steve Johnson has been taking me fishing since 1992, and in that time he has been the best fisherman I know. Even though he has transitioned from aggressively pursuing the most fish to providing a total fishing experience that teaches techniques and involves each individual to the best of their ability, he still puts up the numbers day after day. A day with him is guaranteed to be a fun day on the water.

I have been fishing with the Walleye Guy for a couple of years now and I must say he really has these northwest waters mastered. If you are looking to catch some walleye and learn the best practices for walleye here in the northwest, Steve is the guy to call.
